Majuscule Wine winemaker Greg Brickey

We’re elated to share our awards and scores from the American Fine Wine Competition. Let’s just say that we’re shining in gold!

Majuscule was invited to enter our wines in The Invitational, the new name of its flagship competition for US wines, and we also participated in THE Rosé Competition. More than 550 wines from 125 wineries vied for top honors at this invitation-only event. The Judging – conducted by a 28-member blue ribbon panel from across the wine industry – included educators, restaurateurs, retailers, journalists, and top sommeliers from across the country.

And the Majuscule winners are:

Double Gold & 95 points – 2019 Assemblage Cabernet Franc Blend

Double Gold & 95 points – 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Gold & 93 points – 2018 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Silver – 2020 Rosé of Cabernet Franc

Congratulations to our winemaker, Greg Brickey, for propelling the quality of our small-lot, single-vineyard wines from the Napa Valley.

Wines earn Gold, Silver or Bronze medals and “Double Gold” when every judge agrees the wine deserves Gold. Points from a 100-point scale are also awarded.

“At AFWC, we look for the very best wines the country has to offer, and so they must be vetted before being invited,” said co-founder and President Shari Gherman. “Our acquisition team of wine professionals spends a great deal of time several months each year visiting with winemakers and vintners, and tasting numerous wines from across the USA, identifying wineries they deem to be crafting the best wines in North America to invite to this competition. This year was challenging since the country was pretty much shut down. But with some creativity we persevered, and as one can see by the results, we found stunning wines yet again.”

The impressive quality of wines made in recent vintages made it particularly difficult to determine the Best of Class winners. Judge Wendy Rosano said, “Of the 11 Double Gold medal winning Red Bordeaux Blends, it was almost impossible to pick just one!”. In the Cabernet Sauvignon category, five separate flights of six competing wines were judged Double Gold, confirming the impressive quality of wines entered.
